 I think I really am going to have to unsubscribe to the last heathen list I left myself subscribed too, since now they're talking about Rigsthula (sp? the one with Rig/Heimdall fathering the classes of people) and there is someone claiming that the thralls were probably perfectly happy to be thralls and never tried to rebel or anything and that is a great poem! and obviously not any kind of propaganda at all! and today 95% of the wealth is owned by 5% of the people, and that's a class division, and that's not a bad thing!

I don't even know! the guy arguing that is this really pretentious Jungian psychologist, and he's saying that it's inherent human nature to divide into classes, and that the thralls would be totally happy w/their fate 'cause it was a different time. Nevermind that someone else pointed out to him that that makes NO SENSE. (Two someones, actually, who he's proceeding to get all snarky at). AHH PEOPLE.

Oh dude, I'm totally jealous I'm not a thrall! Why couldn't I be born into slavery, dammit? I hate having the freedom to make my own decision and work when I want to work and be my own person. Oh the drudgery!

Some people really are completely screwed in the head.

The only group I have that I'm subscribed for is CunningFolk and the AODA Public and Craft lists. Oh, and Vanatru :p

I know right! It sounds like such a wonderful, ~meaningful~ existence.

Like, I get not being totally judgmental of the past since it was, you know, the past and they were working within an entirely different framework (Like, I don't think it would make a lot of sense to be like "EVERYONE WAS EVIL BECAUSE THEY HELD SLAVES.")

...but...that doesn't mean we should glorify it either?

ehh. yeah, your lists sound good :P It was on the Troth list, I should just unsubscribe I think...
